Snape is the only Straight Man :P

Jadi?

Jadi, tentu saja tinggallah kesayangan kita semua, Severus Snape, dia benar-benar Straight, dan setia sampai akhir. Keren kan? JKR, JKR, kau memang membuat kami senang!

*kabur*

EDIT TO ADD:
Ditulis besoknya, setelah sadar dari euphoria ^^

Tapi memang.

Memangnya kenapa? Bukankah jaman sekarang sudah lumrah (Dumbledore kalau umurnya 150, berarti dia bisa saja gay dengan Gellert Grindelwald di umur belasan atau 20-an, berarti tahun ... 1840-an? Weks!).

OK, baca bukunya saja, it's not implied.

And that's it. Severus dikatakan dia ugly, rambut berminyak seperti tidak pernah disampo, tapi dia straight. Alangkah senangnya dia diselamatkan dari kebodohan JKR! Bagaimana kalau Severus dikatakan gay?

I have decided to shut down this group. It had an excellent run and I'm very thankful to the Moderators who kept the site clean and running smooth while I was away.

There are many reasons why I enjoyed the Harry Potter series. As for Severus, I have always maintained this site knowing that Snape was a good man (though with many remaining faults) that had turned from his evil past. I was certain of this from the beginning and I thought this character needed some support (at the time there was only a one page website dedicated to him). Another one of these reasons is that Harry Potter had always been a family-friendly epic which focused on good triumphing over evil. The cast was excellent, the story whimsical and mysterious and children all over the world were rooting for Harry to defeat the base evil that was Voldemort. All in all the HP series was focused on good overcoming evil, and it was a safe series for children to enjoy.

But thanks to a foolish move by Rowling, everything has changed.

I am saddened and angered by JK Rowling stooping to the lowest denominator to please the secular/politically correct crowd with her declaration (in front of a room filled with children no less) that one of the most beloved characters of the series is a homosexual/sodomite . This was obviously done to get a pat on the back from the politically correct lobby and/or the secular humanists. These are the same people who are dragging what's left of morality down a slippery slope and taking our children with them. To me, declaring a beloved character a sodomite, right after the conclusion of a kid's series, is akin to mental molestation of children. A character who was once seen as a type of mentor, a father-figure has now been cast in a devious light. The fact that so many children and teens applauded like drones over this decision is just further proof of how much we, the adults, have been perverting their young minds by instructing them to reject morality and embrace the inclusiveness of 'following your heart' ie: doing whatever you feel like no matter how sinful or vile it may be. As far as I know, almost all HP webmasters have been marching to the beat of this very ancient but re-emerging moral decline. I have yet to hear of one HP webmaster denounce this foolish action by JK Rowling.

I cannot, in good faith, keep this site running after Rowling's declaration. I've always declared that this discussion group must stay on-canon and keep any sexual deviancy out of the discussion. This, in my opinion, is why this discussion group has lasted so long and remained a high-quality forum. However, thanks to Rowling's declaration, on-canon now means sodomy is included in Harry Potter. Because I cannot contribute to the destruction of young minds I must close down this group. There is no longer any way to stay on-canon and remain safe.

I know that taking a stand like this is a most unpopular thing to do. But being popular doesn't make one either moral or a good Christian. I too used to be in step with the world, clumsily (while still trying to be a follower of Christ) until I learned the foolishness of my ways and repented from it. Christians are not called to be popular, politically correct or in lockstep with the world. This makes us hated, but so be it. I will take down my HP sites and start fresh. There are better things I can do with my art and with my time.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this group. I am happy that all of you made this forum so successful. I hope you find other forums to enjoy once this one is shut down.

And JK Rowling, it'd be wise to heed these words of wisdom from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior:

He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My name welcomes Me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."

Shame on you JK Rowling.
